There are 7 very distinct hamlets in Strathcona County: Ardrossan, Collingwood Cove, Half Moon Lake, Josephburg,Hastings Lake,North and South Cooking Lake. Between these lively hamlets is the central Largest Hamlet, Sherwood Park.
While enjoying the tranquility of our rural areas, you may enjoy golfing at many of our professionally developed courses. Elk Island National Park and the Cooking lake Provincial Recreation Areas are both minutes from the urban center of Sherwood Park for your enjoyment.
Urban life in Sherwood park is balanced by the lovely Broadmoor lake park and golf course, Heritage parkway trail system, natural areas and the Activities at The Strathcona Athletic Park. While shopping at the Mall which boasts over 90 stores and services, there is an abundance of boutiques and strip malls. Along with plenty of grocery stores to choose from there is an abundance of both casual and fine dining to be had within the park.
As a newcomer myself, I enjoy the proximity to a major city & the small town atmosphere here, in the Park.
